Extra training for teachers

Mr McConnell said he was set to kickstart the talks that began last year between employers, unions and the Executive on establishing new standards of competency for teachers. Teachrs who were unable to cope in the classroom would be offered extra training, but some would have to be eased out. There was, however, "no vendetta", the Minister added.
