Fall in BEd bids

THE number of people applying for undergraduate teacher-training courses is slightly down on this time last year, new figures from the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service revealed today. The figures show 43,391 candidates applied, a decrease of 0.6 per cent, or around 250 people, on 2002.
