Family spending

THE latest Family Expenditure Survey published by the Office for National Statistics found that household spending had increased to pound;360 a week - pound;10 more than last year. The rise in use of mobile phoes continues with 44 per cent of households owning at least one, compared with 16 per cent in 1996-97.
