The fat cat union leaders

2nd September 2005 at 01:00
It is interesting that The TES chose to publish the salaries of so-called trade union leaders of teachers on August 5 when most teachers are on holiday and don't buy your publication.

As a "new" teacher, considering joining a trade union, I was appalled at the obscene salaries these people earn. The 2.5 per cent salary increase which these people claim to have fought for pales into insignificance in comparison with their "fat cat" pay rises.

If your article had been published in September, I predict that the number of teachers refusing to renew their trade union membership would reach an all-time high.

I am sure you won't print my letter as even The TES sucks up to these people.
