Feast of football

Julie Davies is a primary-trained teacher who has made the jump to secondary, and wants to nominate her Year 7 tutor group at Our Lady and St Chad's RC secondary in Wolverhampton for our fair-trade chocolate and football treat. She is teaching a new humanities curriculum to the group, so takes them for six periods a week, as well as seeing them every morning.

She built up a fantastic relationship with them over the autumn term, but then disaster struck as she "did a David Beckham", breaking the fifth metatarsal bone in her foot. Laid up at home she was missing them all, and realised they were missing her when, one dark morning, the postman delivered a get-well-soon card signed by the whole group. She says it meant so much and reaffirmed why she became a teacher.

Does your class deserve a fair-trade treat? If so, email friday@tes.co. uk to tell us why, and they could receive a box of Dubble bars and a Fair Deal football. The chocolate comes from a Ghanaian collective and the football is hand-stitched by adults in Pakistan, helping to give child labour the boot. Mark your message Dubblefootball offer.
