Fewer trainees

The number of of people entering initial teacher training has dropped by 11 per cent since 1992, according to official figures obtained by Don Foster, Liberal Democrat education spokesman..

Provisional figures for recruitment in England this year that 28,466 people signed up for ITT compared with 31,980 in England and Wales in 1992.
