Fife's the place

31st October 1997 at 00:00
You can't fault Fife when it comes to statistical transparency. Figures show, school by school, the percentage of primary 1 pupils who arrived through a placing request. A roll of drums for Rathillet near Cupar, which rattled up 100 per cent. Only one pupil, it is true, but the school now numbers 18.

Among bigger establishments what is the special attraction of St Bride's, Cowdenbeath? Twenty-three out of 24 entrants are from placing requests.
