Scotland's national competition for young film-makers, the Discovery Film Festival Youth Screen Project Awards, is calling for submissions from schools, youth groups and individuals aged 18 and under. Films must have been made after August 2008.
There will be a pound;250 cash prize for the entry which wins the audience vote. Discovery will also support the shortlisted films so they can be submitted to international festivals for young people and be seen globally. Entries will be judged by a team of industry professionals and those shortlisted will be screened in the Dundee Contemporary Arts cinema as part of the finale weekend of the festival, October 31-November 1.
A programme of all the entries will be screened in public access spaces at DCA during Discovery 2009 for all festival attendees to enjoy. Deadline for submissions is September 18 and addressed to Discovery Youth Screen Award, Dundee Contemporary Arts, 152 Nethergate, Dundee DD1 4DY.
