In a tough opening round of the Scottish Schools' Football Association Under-14 National Shield, last season's tournament winners, Johnstone High of Renfrewshire, have been drawn away to Holyrood Secondary, Glasgow.

The draw for the preliminary round of the SSFA Under-13 Shield has been announced as: Dumfries amp; GallowayStrathclyde: Dumfries HS v Loudoun Acad; Duncanrig Sec v St Ninian's HS (Giffnock); Ballerup HS v Larkhall Acad; Eastbank Acad v St Margaret Mary's Sec; Coltness HS v Our Lady's HS (Cumbernauld); Airdrie Acad v Hunter HS; Whitehill Sec v Holyrood Sec; John Ogilvie HS v Dalziel HS; St Roch's Sec v Govan HS; Cardinal Newman HS v Carluke HS; Holy Cross HS v Williamwood HS.
