What school in Egypt draws parts of its intake from Auchenshuggle, famed Glasgow transport destination? The answer - provided by Jim Thomson of the Scottish Local History Forum at a coference on the curriculum - is St Paul's primary in the city's east end. He's the heidie, and as every Shettleston wean knows, Egypt was the name of an old farm in the area.
