Frank Cottrell Boyce, whose novel Millions supports Water Aid, will approve of the latter (by the way, don't miss our Millions DVD offer this week on page 3). The book, which won the Carnegie Medal, is Liverpool's Citywide Read for 2005 (see www.liverpoolreads.com). Meanwhile, the author is running a workshop on his own favourite Frank, Frank O'Connor, at an "Art Life" day on November 26 sponsored by The Reader, a literary magazine based at the University of Liverpool's English department. Also appearing are John Carey on Northanger Abbey and Coronation Street's Penny King (actress Pauline Fleming) on The Winter's Tale. Bookings close on Monday November 14: tel 0151 794 2830.
