Free laptops - finally

A scheme to give free laptops to children in the poorest areas of Wales is set to launch this month, three years after it was first promised. Up to 1,200 computers will be distributed to Year 6 pupils by the Assembly government, with at least one school in every local authority taking part. The Conservatives said the #163;700,000 scheme was "expensive and ill-advised" in the current financial climate.
