Private finance is expected to inject further funds into the Pounds 83 million New Deal for Schools, which will cover the cost of repairing crumbling buildings. School standards minister Stephen Byers said he has been talking to banks and representatives from the construction industry to discover new forms of public-private partnership that will suit the projects.
