Coastal creativity

Liven up revision with blackfriary's geography game-making activity.

What is it?

A creative approach to revision where pupils, in groups, design a game to revise a topic on coasts. This can be a new version of an existing board game, a television quiz show format (such as Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?) or a storyboard for a new computer game.

Why is it useful?

With pupils thinking only of the summer holidays, a coastal project is a great way to maintain their interest in the final weeks of the year. It engages learners who are more artistic than academic, and develops team-working and communication skills. Plus, once the games are complete you will have a range of handy revision resources to reuse.
