German - Sprechen Sie Sport?

Bishopbriggs Academy in East Dunbartonshire has launched a new cross- curricular project combining German and PE.

German-born Andreas Hinkel, who plays for Celtic Football Club, has launched a project, Kicker Club - Auf Deutsch, which will teach pupils German culture and language through football training sessions in German.

Developed by the Goethe-Institut Glasgow, the Kicker Club project will develop collaboration between modern languages and PE departments.

Bishopbriggs Academy is part of the German government initiative Schulen: Partner der Zukunft, whose aim is to create a worldwide network of 1,000 partner schools in order to spark young people's interest in modern Germany, its society and language.
