Get in ship shape

23rd May 2003 at 01:00
Six-day personal and professional development courses which explore sustainability, biodiversity and citizenship are again being run on the sailing boat The Leader as it travels around the Scottish islands.

Onboard activities are run by art teachers, writers, poets, ecologists, educators, scientists and musicians.

This innovative approach to professional development is a result of organiser Joyce Gilbert's disillusion with training that ignores creativity and the outdoors and separates art and science.

Places are available on courses running on July 19-25; July 26-August 1 and August 2-8. No sailing experience is necessary.

For more information, contact Dr Joyce Gilbert, tel 01796 470035, e-mail
