"I've been lucky because I have good friends and, on the whole, we have good relationships here. I've never seen girls fighting but I know girls can be cruel with words and very controlling - creating groups, deciding who's in and who's out. These things can go on for a long time and affect your work and life. We had one girl who came to our school because she'd had a bad time with a group of girls in her other school.
"Teachers need to know what's going on, they have to intervene and try to sort things out before they get bad. If there's a fight they have to deal with it, but that's difficult for a male teacher. Going for the arms is probably the best option."
