Give us a rest

I WAS disgusted but unsurprised to read in On Course (March 21), an article supporting Saturday training courses for teachers. Disgusted because teachers work long enough hours during the week, without attending courses on Saturdays. Unsurprised because the article was supported by the General Teaching Council and we always knew the GTC never had our best interests at heart. I need my Saturday afternoons to do the work I am unable (or too tired) to finish during the week. I have Sundays off. Even God did not work seven days a week.
