Gove's contempt for us is clear

20th July 2012 at 01:00

Should teachers not have appreciated by now the contempt in which Michael Gove and this government holds the profession, then the manner in which exam specifications are being "reformed" will leave us little room for further doubt. First, we have new GCSE specifications being introduced from September, some of which will not even have had final approval by then. Second, we are presumably expected, having exhausted ourselves producing voluminous schemes of work, lesson plans and materials for this new GCSE, to throw all this away and start again in a couple of years with the new "more challenging" pseudo O levels. As they say here, "Yer 'avin' a giraffe, mate!"
