Graphic flaw

In the graphic accompanying "A Flawed Spur to Improve" by Geraldine Hackett (TES, December 15),West Sussex is shown as representing "increased polarisation" rather than "overall improvement", as reflected within the statistics accompanying the article.

I am particularly proud of the continued improvement in standards achieved in West Sussex schools over the period reported.
