Energy-efficient light bulbs and stickers reminding staff to switch off computers have helped Kettering Park junior school become the first to be awarded a new certificate for schools that combat climate change.

The Northamptonshire primary won the first Energy Certification for Schools award in the UK from the Energy Saving Trust, which encourages reduction of carbon dioxide emissions. To register for the scheme call 0870 1 282 820 or visit
