Growth of knowledge

20th May 2005 at 01:00
For children (and teachers) at key stage 2 who confuse their tendrils with their radicles or their plumules with their stipules, help is at hand. Parts of a Plant and their Functions is an A4 booklet that makes everything clear. The first of a five-part series on plants (later booklets are to cover lifecycles, classification and growing environments), it contains advice on growing and understanding seedlings. Photocopiable flash cards provide the materials for games to turn observations into memorable concepts. Parts of a Plant and their Functions is available from FSC Publications for pound;4 inc pp a copy.
