Head faces dismissal

23rd July 2010 at 01:00

Governors want to sack a teacher after a pupil died of an asthma. Sam Linton was made to wait in a corridor and teachers did not dial 999. An inquest found neglect "significantly contributed" to his death. Governors at Offerton School in Stockport recommended the dismissal of one member of staff and give formal warnings to three more following the incident. Head Evelyn Leslie has been on suspension alongside one teacher and three support staff. Ms Leslie's fate will be decided next term.
