Hello. Dobrze panie bobrze?

7th September 2007 at 01:00

Thousands of free resources stickers, posters and activity ideas have been produced to celebrate the European Day of Languages later this month.

The free packs, aimed at schools, colleges and community groups, are being distributed by the National Centre for Languages. The resources are limited to one per institution.

The packs contain posters featuring characters DJ Dialect and the De Linguant Dance Crew, which ask: how multilingual is your world? The idea is to count the languages hidden in the poster, identify them and work out what they say. Phrases include "dobrze panie bobrze" which is Polish for "lovely jubbly".

Stickers with "hello" in more than 30 languages are included, and ideas for activities are posted online.
