Higher grades are earned;Letter
In my subjects - maths, physics and chemistry - we used papers dating back a number of years for mock tests, and they were no harder than those I sat in June.
The increase in higher grades is almost certainly due to: improved teaching; greater familiarity with a particular syllabus; pupils obtaining better subject advise at 16 and the introduction of new A-levels.
The majority of pupils who took A-levels this year, and every year, will have deserved their grades.
