Highly principled

Ash Green Primary in Mixenden, Halifax, has won its appeal to have its key stage 2 results downgraded. The school was stunned to find 98 per cent of pupils graded as level 4 or above in English this summer, with 70 per cent at level 5. Acting head Mungo Sheppard said: "It was ludicrously high." The results have now been re-marked and justify the concern. In English, 83 per cent of pupils got level 4 or above and 20 per cent got level 5.
