Four in five secondary inspections will be led by one of Her Majesty's inspectors under arrangements to be introduced in September.

Ofsted confirmed that HMIs, who are employed directly by the inspectorate, would be involvedin all school inspections and would lead some visits to primary and special schools. At present, most school inspections are led by contracted inspectors.
