The Scottish Hockey Union (SHU) has named its Under-16 and Under-18 boys' training squads for the home internationals and European Youth Championships next April. Twenty-six have been named in the younger group and 27 in the Under-18 squad.Brent Deans, the SHU's performance manager, states there is no lack of incentive for players. "Many of those who have been playing at this level over the past couple of years are now forming the backbone of the senior Scotland side," he points out.
