Holidays cost parents billions

Parents will spend pound;6.5 billion on their credit cards keeping their children entertained during the summer holidays, according to research. The survey commissioned by Virgin Money suggests that the average parent will spend more than pound;850 on outings and holidays over the summer, with day trips costing an average of pound;45.
