It is not often that we prematurely promote even such a distinguished person as Brian Boyd, the good doctor rather than professor of Jordanhill (TESS, last week). "Dr" Boyd makes another appearance in this week's issue (page 19) wearing his accustomed moniker.

While we're on the subject, we expect Nisbet Gallacher, the former head of the inspectorate, will also be receiving an apology from the newly-created ISES (see page 4) who believe he was once head of the Scottish Office Education and Industry Department.
