Dan Brown, Cosla's chief negotiator, said he could find no reference in any papers to the pound;15,000 figure. "If that was a figure that was talked about, it was only a figure that was talked about. It would have had to be agreed by a higher group than a working party and it wasn't," Mr Brown said. No employers' group had agreed to the figure and all the post-McCrone subgroup agreed to was the addition of extra support staff in schools.
