The London Olympics is going to cost nearly pound;3 billion, while playing fields and swimming pools are closing down across the country. Next month the Football Association will anounce plans to target 5 to 11-year-olds in a quest to mould future stars. But, as any PE teacher will tell you, for every winner there must be more losers. What should our attitude to competition be?
