Jacqueline Wilson also has a stake in the other BBA: the Branford Boase Award for the year's most impressive first book for children (shortlist to come soon). A former judge of the award in memory of the late author Henrietta Branford and her editor Wendy Boase, Ms Wilson has added pound;5,000 sponsorship to existing support from Walker Books and Peters Library Service, which will fund the pound;1,000 prize for the winning author and enable the Henrietta Branford website to be developed to help young writers submit their own stories.
