(Photograph) - June 7 2002.Was yours one of the schools that set up a television in the hall for England v Argentina in the first round of the World Cup? Of course, there were no teachers among the 20 per cent of British workers that took the day off (not counting those who called in sick) to see David Beckham and Michael Owen do their stuff in England's 1-0 win. This is the December 7 match in Football: 365 days (pound;19.95 in a good-value series published by Abrams). With a photograph of a key World Cup moment for each day (you could do an assembly on motivation with this one) and text by German sports journalist Christian Eichler, it tracks the history of the World Cup since 1930.
