CHILDREN will have free entry to national museums and galleries next year with Pounds 30 million allocated as part of an extra Pounds 290m package of arts funding, Culture Secretary Chris Smith, said this week. However, museums said it would not be enough to meet the target of abolishing charges, which was unveiled last July.
