Kids Talk

Rachel, Paul and Patricia, P3, talk to Julia Belgutay about Christmas

Paul: I am looking forward to Christmas.

Rachel: I am looking forward to the presents.

Paul: I am looking forward to the weekend.

Rachel: I am going to eat some turkey. Before Christmas, sometimes my mum and I wrap presents for other people. I think the best thing about Christmas is getting your favourite presents. I have asked for a laptop. I don't know if I'll get it - it's quite expensive and I've not quite been good.

Paul: I am asking for an Xbox and a game for the Wii. I think I will get it.

Patricia: I want an iPod.

Rachel: I think not everyone gets what they want. They might have a lot of things on their list.

Paul: Or they might have been naughty.

Rachel: I never got everything I wanted last year! I wanted a Monster High doll, and it was the Cupid I wanted and I never got it. But I was happy with what I got. Maybe a bit disappointed.

Paul: I was happy with what I got last year, but I got some things that I didn't even ask for. I got like clothes and stuff. I think it was a set of stuff that I didn't want and I got it at the toy fair and Rachel's little brother got it.

Rachel: Rex?

Paul: Yeah.

Rachel: It is a wee character in Toy Story, a dinosaur.

Paul: I don't really like Toy Story. I didn't put that on my wish list, though.

Patricia: Last year I wanted a make-up set and I didn't get it. I was a little bit disappointed. I said I was a bit disappointed.

Rachel: On Christmas, I get presents at my house, and then I get turkey at my grandma's. And then I'm going to be so tired. Maybe I can bring my toys to my grandma's and play with them. We just watch TV and then fall asleep.

Paul: Well, usually when I get up at Christmas, I go see if my presents are there. If they are, I just go mad. I go to Mum and she says "wait, wait, wait", and she gets up and takes pictures and all that. When I've finished opening my presents, she takes pictures. When I open them, I just go surprised. I just hope I don't get too much, 'cos I only asked for two things. Last year was the same as this year. Last year I asked for a Wii and a Star Wars sword and that's when I got the Toy Story things that I didn't want.
