Lack of publicity, pounds and pupils;Postscript;Letter

HUW Thomas is right to find the lack of publicity in staffrooms about the emergence of the General Teaching Council alarming (TES, December 10). So did I. In the course of gathering support for my nomination I found awareness among colleagues patchy.

In Lord Puttnam teachers already have a champion. It is up to us all now to ensure that the GTC is indeed "the voice of the profession".

GTC nominee
