Lesson in child care

ITALY: A school in Naples has "adopted" the three-month-old son of a pupil. When Maria Pollice, 18, dropped out of her final year to look after the child, her headteacher, Benito Finazzer, said it would be a pity if she did not get a final diploma. So a spare room in the school has been turned into a creche. Maria pops in between lessons to change Antonio, and teachers have been giving up their free periods to look after him.
