Had Nicholas Pyke waited 24 hours before writing his article on Jimmy Corkhill in Channel 4's Brookside he would have discovered that the programme was showing its support for the Government's determination to raise the standard of teaching by demonstrating the necessity for, and (hopefully) the application of, the Government's new fast-track sacking system.
