Lillian Downie

(Photograph) - One college member of staff who is not "facing a p45" is Lillian Downie, who decided she wanted out of Aberdeen College - but on her own terms. At the age of 55, Ms Downie went back to college as a student, took her HNC and now runs her own business from home, offering a range of alternative therapies including reiki (a form of energy healing), reflexolgoy, remedial massage and aromatherapy. Her story is one of many that will be told for Adult Learners' Week, which runs from tomorrrow (Saturday) until May 27
