Lost fingers

Two 15-year-old pupils each lost a finger while trying to scale a school fence at lunchtime in separate incidents. The girl and boy got rings caught up in the fence as they tried to leave King Edward VII School in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. The boy has now returned to school but the girl is recovering at home.
