Lunch-Box Book

14th September 2001 at 01:00
Monday mornings needn't find flustered parents scrabbling desperately in the freezer. Lunch-Box Book is written to help them plan. Ranging from the obvious (drinks flasks should be leak-proof) to the genuinely helpful (easy recipes for vegetable samosas and banana bread), it has the mid-day requirements of primary school pupils in mind throughout. It recognises the existence of fussy eaters as well as the demands of health and hygiene. Written by a parent, and with the support of the National Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations, it strikes a worthy balance between children's own need for independence and nutritional common sense.

Lunch-Box Book costs pound;2.99 plus pound;1.25 pamp;p from Southgate Publishers, The Square, Sandford, Crediton, Devon EX17 4LW. Tel: 01363 776888. Fax: 01363 776889.Email: Website:
