Mair trouble

Colin Mair, Strathclyde University's local government guru, was undone by a literal when addressing directors of education at their Dunblane conference. An E on an overhead presentation became an F, producing a rather unfortunate abbreviation. The rationalisation of education authorities (EA's) was transposed into what his audience interpreted as the "rationalisation of Fuck Alls".

Many would no doubt agree.
