Meanwhile, his successor has been announced as Marinos Paphitis, brother of Theo, the tycoon best known for his role on BBC television's Dragons' Den, in which business people pitch their ideas to a panel of potential investors.

Hopefully, next time we hear from a clever PR person about a "Dragons' Den-style" event at a college to test students' business expertise, Marinos will be able to use his family contacts to make the event worthy of the description.
