McDonald's to offer 'GCSEs'

McDonald's is to beef up the basic skills of its staff with a scheme offering GCSE-equivalent lessons.

The company said up to 1,000 employees are to gain GCSE-equivalent qualifications in the next 12 months through online teaching. McDonald's restaurants will act as accredited examination centres as part of the scheme.
