Meditations on the inspection regime

30th August 2013 at 01:00

Was the picture on the front cover of TES 23 August not a dressed-down, grim-looking Rene Descartes ("cogito ergo sum") but a dressed-up, grim-looking Sir Michael Wilshaw ("inspicio ergo sum"), head of England's schools inspectorate Ofsted? Is it coincidental that the Latin translation of "chief inspector" is "primus censor"?
