17th August 2012 at 01:00

If you are starting the new year by introducing a new language to pupils, try these colourful interactive resources.

What's included?

Names and numbers. A PowerPoint by shropshire14. Two simple slides ask pupils to identify where Italy is and explain how to ask and answer the question "What is your name?" The next slide introduces numbers from 1 to 12, and a picture quiz tests pupils' knowledge. Split the class into teams for an exciting, competitive atmosphere. The final two slides in the presentation can be printed and given to pupils as worksheets to check their understanding.

Come stai? chatterbox81's bright and colourful presentation introduces students to the basic vocabulary to ask "How are you?" A wonderful starter to a first lesson, it lets pupils express themselves from the outset.

Italian instructions. Get pupils using the language regularly with this glossary of classroom commands and feedback in Italian contributed by MadameSchultz.
