Modern parallels

24th October 2003 at 01:00
An exhibition of work by young people from some of Edinburgh's most deprived areas is on show at the city's National Portrait Gallery.

Youth groups in north and south Edinburgh, Craigmillar and Wester Hailes were invited to examine historical paintings in the National Galleries of Scotland collection and produce contemporary versions.

Parallel Lives runs until January.
