Actress Thandie Newton joined Gordon Brown this week to launch a scheme that brings more movies into the classroom. Film Club aims to give 10,000 schools access to up to 400 films, from blockbusters to foreign language titles. Teachers and pupils will be able to watch films, write reviews and rate movies via The scheme, backed by the UK Film Council and other associations, is being piloted across Yorkshire, London, Kent, Surrey and Northern Ireland.
