Moving on

This is to be Carol Main's last year as director of the Festival of British Youth Orchestras. She is leaving the National Association of Youth Orchestras in October to concentrate on her role as Scottish director for Live Music Now, which was set up by Yehudi Menuhin and aims to bring good quality music from young professional musicians into community venues, including schools.

Ms Main, who was a founding member of NAYO, joining in 1980, will continue as classical music editor for The List and as one of the Scottish Arts Council's team of specialist music advisers.
